Snowbirding, 2012

We are in Yuma!  Arrived yesterday after 10 days of travel with plenty of layovers and a couple of visits with friends on the way down.  We are staying at Country Roads RV in the same slot we have had the last three years.  The neighbors remember us and seemed happy to have us back.  And they have welcomed Minnie with open arms – er, hands.
The weather coming down here was a mixed bag, with lots of rain for half of the trip, and lots of sun for the other half.  There was snow on the side of the road and foggy conditions in the Siskiyous, but the road was good.
Minnie, like Shadow, decided she didn’t like being in the direct sun, so she rode some of the way in the back seat.  We put her little bed back there and she was fine.  She’s a real trooper, but she did seem to wonder when we were going to get here.

It is unusually warm in Yuma right now, in the 80’s every day for awhile with zero chance of rain.  A little warmer than I prefer, but much nicer than Olympia.

As for activities here, Paddy has shuffleboard and bocce, and I have water aerobics and woodcarving.  And, of course, there’s always Bingo.  Plus, our friends Al and Mavis live here, so I’m sure we will get together with them a few times.

We will be in Yuma until the day after Christmas, when we will pack up and head to Palm Creek RV in Casa Grande.
