New Palm Creek Home

Our new Village Home came in on two flat-bed trucks.  The day before it arrived, they dug a big hole on our lot, and when the trucks came in they backed the two halves into the hole, unhooked the flat-beds from the trucks and began the process of stitching the two parts together. 

Next came leveling the pieces in the hole (as you can see from the above picture, it is lower in the back than in the front).  They put the house halves together and settled it down on piers.  Then came adding roof shingles along the top ridge line and siding on the front and back to make the join look seamless.  Inside the house, they put in some insulation along the seam, drywall and paint so you can’t see the line. 

In the picture above, you can see that they have poured the concrete walkway, steps and driveway.  In the next picture you can see that they have built the carport and finished the roofing where the carport meets the house.

There is still a bit to be done: rain gutters, gravel around the yard, and cleanup stuff inside the house.  We don’t have a closing date yet but are hoping for no more than two weeks.  Fingers crossed.  

We will wait until next year to lay a patio and build a shed under part of the carport.  Color us excited!
