Ready for the Road

We picked up Uncle Joe today, and while we were up in Fife we attended a sales pitch for KM campgrounds. They have a number of campgrounds in Washington state, and joining up with them would allow us to also join a couple of other campground networks with locations all over the US. It's very expensive, but we'll reserve final judgment until we visit one of their campgrounds after our 4th of July stay up near Mt. Rainier. They offered us two free nights, plus several other retail and restaurant freebies to sit through the sales presentation. Not bad.

We didn't try out Uncle Joe, just brought him home to his storage place. We'll give him a good test on our trip over the 4th. Apparently the electrical problem was caused by two loose wires that were touching each other and finally disconnected completely from the converter. My brother-in-law says that when you buy an RV, you're buying a giant kit with various amounts of assembly required. We're finding that out. As for the water heater, it worked for them when tested, but the technician put the probe in further (don't ask me what the means) just in case that was the source of our problem.

Paddy thought of a good way to judge how to get Uncle Joe into his storage shed without my admittedly poor directions through the walkie-talkie. He laid a rope on the ground on the right side of the storage shed, coming straight out the door. Somehow that helped him line up the trailer perfectly to back it in. It was like magic. Paddy is so creative!
