Voyager RV Resort

Here we are at Voyager just outside of Tucson, arrived Sunday. Before coming here, we spent three days/nights at Picacho State Park between Yuma and Tucson. Picacho was a beautiful park with rock peak views in every direction. Magnificent!

No Wi-Fi, no cable TV, no water hook-up or sewer hook-up. Just electricity and TV via antenna. And beautifully clean restrooms. And gorgeous views. And lots of cacti – saguaro, cholla, prickly pear.

Oh, and also trains. There were many trains, both day and night. While we were there, there was a train/truck collision just across I-10 from the campground. The train was stopped for hours. We didn’t know what had happened till we saw it on the TV news, but we did know something had happened because traffic slowed to a crawl and there were news helicopters over the area. Apparently the two men in the truck tried to beat the train. The train won, and one of the men was killed. Foolish.

Our slot at Voyager is nice, a long pull-through with space behind Uncle Joe for The Beast. There’s no grass, but small trees in each site. Wi-Fi is not available in the rig but we can walk to a nearby “hot spot” for internet connection. We are close to my sister Suzy and her husband, and not far from the activity areas of the park. So far, we have played Bingo, Paddy has played Bocce and Shuffleboard, and I have done deep-water aerobics. We’ve also walked a few times in the park; it is so big that you can’t go up and down all the streets in an hour.

We’ll be here until March 16th, then to Mesa, and then head on home.
