We're Traveling

I’ve been slow to get started with my blog this year. We left home on Wednesday, November 16, two days ahead of snow in our neighborhood. The trip south was rainy until we reached southern California. We stayed at most of the same places as last year, visiting with Paddy’s online friend Lemoncello in Lodi, and with our friends Jon and Lisa in Indio.

We have been in Yuma for the past week at Country Roads RV Park. Leaving tomorrow for two months in Casa Grande at Palm Creek RV Park. While in Yuma we have visited with an artist buddy, Al, and his girlfriend Mavis. It’s so nice to be able to reconnect with people down here.

Yesterday we went to see a ghost mining town, Castle Dome City and Mine. The little town is mostly made up of buildings that have been moved there from other mining sites, but the mine itself is the original. The place was about ten miles down an unpaved road, but there were a surprising number of other visitors considering the rough access.

Last night Shadow gave us a little scare. He didn’t eat at all yesterday, and last night he seemed to be feeling bad, crouched down and wanting to be held. He isn’t much better today, except that he did go for a healthy walk with Paddy this morning. Our fingers are crossed that he will get better.
