We came to Casa Grande last Thursday and, immediately after setting Uncle Joe up, we called the vet and arranged to take Shaddy in. We were pretty sure he had impacted anal glands, and the vet thought so too. But when she expressed the glands she said they were not full, although one of them had something hard in it. She prescribed some prednisone and a topical ointment and sent us on our way with the hope that he would improve. And he did! He is now back to normal, no pain, eating regularly and seems happy again. Yaaay! We were pretty worried.
Saturday, we drove up to Chandler, AZ, to visit our friends Mare and Dave and watch the Oklahoma/Oklahoma State game. Dave is a BIG OU fan, so he was not happy with the outcome of the game. We had a nice dinner with Dave and Mare and some Oklahoma friends of theirs. Since the game ended late for us, we stayed over in Chandler at a hotel and drove back to Casa Grande on Sunday morning.
I haven’t had a chance to go to water aerobics yet, it’s too cold for me. A cold front came in Thursday, and the nights have been in the 30s, with rain a few times. It should warm up a bit later in the week. Meanwhile, I plan to go to the woodcarving group tomorrow morning and see what’s up with them. I did a little carving in Yuma and am looking forward to join the group here. Before we left home I bought a box to carve and downloaded a pattern to carve on it.
Paddy has reconnected with some of his lawn bowling friends, and is there now playing in the chilly wind. He is hooked on the sport. At least it is sunny.
