Today we drove from Mesa, AZ, to Indio, CA, and Shadow Hills RV Resort. The drive was beautiful, with lots of “mountains” (what do you call these rocky uplifts from the desert that don’t seem high enough to be mountains but are certainly too rugged to be called hills?). There were many wildflowers along the road – yellow, gold, light yellow, purple, peach-colored. All in all a very nice 260 mile trip.
Tomorrow we have plans to visit with my cousin Dorothy in Desert Hot Springs, just a little west of here, in the hills where the wind blows. Today that wind wouldn’t be a bad feature as it is currently 85 degrees outside. Warmer inside, I just turned on the air conditioner. Hot weather is expected until we leave here Sunday. Next stop, around Bakersfield, should be cooler.
This RV park is very nice, even has grass. But it is very expensive and does not have Paddy’s bocce ball. Also, their shuffleboard courts are not maintained and no games are regularly scheduled. So, we may not be back, although they do have good cable and Wi-Fi. And water aerobics. You can see my biases coming out.
We’re definitely on the road for home, but not too quickly. Will keep you posted.
