Shaking Down

We are on our first trip in Uncle Joe, our new 5th wheel trailer. We left home yesterday morning and drove to the Dunes RV Resort near Copalis WA. We aren't on the beach but can see the water beyond the dunes from our rig. Very pretty, but rainy and blustery all day yesterday. Today there is some sun coming through the clouds so we will be heading to the beach in a little while.

Uncle Joe is very comfortable. We had to use the heat yesterday and have already blown through one of our propane tanks. We'll have to get it filled up later today.

We have both cable TV and Wi-Fi here, nice features. It was fun last night to watch separate TV shows on our two TV sets. Kind of like home.

The only problem we have found so far is not too big, not too small. The hot water heater doesn't work. It is supposed to work on either electricity or propane. I first tried it on electricity, nothing. Then tried gas, still nothing. We're heating water in the kettle to wash dishes. I'll have to use the public showers for the duration of the trip. Not my favorite thing. Paddy called the dealer where we bought Uncle Joe and they were no help, just said we'll have to bring the rig for service.

Paddy has posted some new pictures on his blog. I haven't taken any yet. Maybe today.

  1. Sounds like this first trip will help you work out all the kinks. At least you can enjoy all the other amenities. :)
