We left home at about 9:00 this morning (Tuesday, Dec. 1st) and drove to Sutherland, OR – the Hi-Way Haven RV Park. It’s a nice park not too far from I-5 (but not too close either). Cable TV and free Wi-Fi make it a winner for me.
We arrived here little after 3:00, set up Uncle Joe, and Paddy went out to gas up the Beast so we’ll be ready for tomorrow’s drive.
Shaddy settled into the trip immediately, sleeping most of the day in my lap, which means he was ready for a rousing round of ball-fetching during toddy time.
Right now we’re watching President Obama’s speech about plans to send 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan. Wish there was an easy answer to this quagmire. Escalation can’t be it, but pulling out without giving help to the Afghans doesn’t seem to work either. I just hope he's making the right call -- if there is such a thing.
